Gordon Brown
James Gordon Brown is a politician who served as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom and Leader of the Labour Party from 2007 to 2010. He was instrumental in the success of the No campaign in the 2014 referendum in independence with his famous, which quickly turned to infamous "vow". The vow was a promise to devolve more power to the parliament in Holyrood so that the United Kingdom would be closer to a federal state. As predicted it was simply hot air and nothing came of it other than achieving it's primary objective of persuading soft-no voters to stick with the Union. Brown still sees himself as central to the preservation of the Union and appears now and again with vague promises of a federal UK which nobody takes seriously.
