History

As with language a nation's history is as much a story about itself as it is a way of documenting the affairs of people and the state. For too long in Scotland the nation's history was hidden in a narrative of Britishness that promoted the interests of the English state and it's role in the world and suppressed or neglected the contribution made by Scots. To a certain extent a future independent Scotland will have to address the past, rewriting the nation's history to right wrongs and oversights and give a better sense of identity of who we are and how we got here.
