Political Prosecution

The selective application of the justice system to silence political opponents. There have been four in the past year alone. First up Manny Singh who was jailed for failing to comply with an order from the SNP led Glasgow City Council to change the start time of an All Under One Banner march in the city in may 2020. The order came after all the organsation had been completed and was widely seen as an attempt to disrupt the March. Singh spent 72 days in jail for his trouble. The persecution continued after his release with the move to remove his licence as a taxi-driver - his sole means of income - by, you guessed it, the SNP-lead Glasgow City Council. After than came Mark Hirst, Alex Salmond and Craig Murray. With the passing of the Hate Crime Bill in early 2021 there are sure to be more. UPDATE: In May 2021 another name got added to the list, Dave Llewellyn, handcuffed at 5am over a Facebook post.
